Back in September 2018 we joined forces in a Marvel team up kinda way with some very good friends from Jakarta, Indonesia as part of the Coming Together residential programme via the Arts in Indonesia.

It was a 2 week long studio which saw artists from the Double Deer label in Jakarta come to Manchester to exchange ideas, skills & work methods with artists from Sprechen, the result? A collection of original tracks & remixes as well as an everlasting musical friendship that since taking place has produced several label releases (with more en route!) from some of the most exciting artists out of Indonesia.

From Jakarta to Manchester features 2 tracks produced during the exchange which saw the electronic duo KimoKal and Harvy Abdurachman from Double Deer in the studio with Massey & TJ Lawton from Sprechen to create 2 electronic, squelched up ear worms which also features mega producer/remixer/artist James Yuill as well as Indonesia mega artist Kallula on vocal duties.

Sounds of Manchester basements twist & turn with the tropical heated dance floors & shebeens of Jakarta with a slight cinematic approach.

Finally we're thrilled to have this release dropping having been hit by various delays, mix downs and then that blooming covid thing, but here we are.coming together across continents, speaking music, making art X
